Artist Series Wine

Cape Blend is a style of wine that features Pinotage, a uniquely South African grape variety. Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault (once known as Hermitage), which is how the name “Pino-tage” was formed. Dr. Abraham Perold, who created the variety in 1925, aimed to combine the elegance and finesse of Pinot Noir with the hardiness and productivity of Cinsault. Pinotage is the cornerstone of South Africa’s “Cape Blend.” For us, it’s also a tribute to our winemaker’s roots of Cape Town and his new home on Cape Cod—linking two Capes in one wine.
